Cinéma Vérité to support documentaries on entrepreneurship

The 13th Iran International Documentary Film Festival, also known as the Cinéma Vérité, has added entrepreneurship section this year aiming to strengthen the youth willpower to reach independence despite the US sanctions.

Iran has been under the US sanctions during the last 10 years which halted import and export to some extend; however, people tried to retain stability and reach independence to bypass the brutal sanctions.

The US targeted Iran's economy and people's lives without considering the fact that Iranian youth would not give up in the face of hardship; instead would learn how to mitigate the damage by improving national productivity which is one major reason that Cinema Vérité dedicated special section to support entrepreneurship.

This section focuses on films with the objective of encouraging the youth to expand their horizons and see the world from different perspectives.

Documentarians who highlight issues related to entrepreneurship and national products like novel business ideas, unique startups, online markets, and improvement of the national economy will compete at the section.

The section is supported by Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA).

Organized by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center, the first edition of the Cinéma Vérité was held in 2007.

Over the past decade it has emerged as one of the important events on Iran's documentary film calendar.

The 13th edition of the Cinéma Vérité will be held on December 9-16, 2019.
